Ningxia Workshop - 29/10/2008

Phase II of the ICCCA project undertook a detailed regional case study in the autonomous region of Ningxia Hui on how climate change is expected to impact on rural livelihoods. Importantly, ICCCA developed, in close consultation with a range of local stakeholders such as local and regional government officials and farming communities, the first regional policy strategy in China for adaptation to climate change. The results of this regional work were presented at a workshop in Yinchuan City, Ningxia, on 29 October 2008. The workshop was chaired by Ms Zhang Xinjun, Deputy Director General of Ningxia's Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
